Do I realize it's December, merely days before Christmas? Yep. Am I really blogging about something that occurred over 4 months ago? Yep.

Mr. M and I joined a few friends for a beach get-away back in August, shortly before I started my new job (aka- the main culprit behind my blog disappearance). We stayed at Sarah's beach house and, as usual, had a blast soaking up the rays and spending quality time with a few of our favorite people in one of our favorite places. Here are a few iPhone pictures from that trip- 'scuse the quality:

After a standing Monday night date for six years, last night I bid farewell to Mr. Chuck Bass. 'Twas a pretty awesome series finale. I'll surely miss the love and drama, the gorgeous NYC backdrop, the groundbreaking fashion, and the quick-witted dialog. But mostly, I'll miss Chuck Bass.

So yeah. About that “comeback” post… I had good intentions, but I’ll be the first to admit that my “comeback” was more akin to Miz Spears’ disastrous “Gimme More” comeback performance circa 2007. I was envisioning more of a “Circus” tour caliber comeback- still a little rough around the edges, but a respectable showing nonetheless. Epic fail on my part.

Since that alleged “comeback”, we’ve had several good times and great memories with friends and family that I would like to archive here on my little digital scrapbook. My plan was to start the recap process today, but given the events in Newtown, CT this past Friday some of the silly posts I had in mind seem pretty insignificant. It’s easy to question the world we live in after such a senseless and evil tragedy. With such hopelessness in humanity facing our country, I couldn’t have stumbled upon this article at a better time. I think we could all use a few examples of simple love and kindness right now to contrast Friday’s bleak news.

~ 80th ~

This weekend we celebrated Mr. M's grandmother's 80th birthday. We had a lovely outdoor dinner for Granny and about 50 of her closest friends and family. Although it was overcast and sprinkled a little before the party, we were thankful that the rain held out for the event. I loved the rustic fall theme that we used, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves- especially the birthday girl!

Does it make me sound like an old lady to say that look forward to coming home every afternoon and watering/weeding/fertilizing my fall flowers? I'm a little obsessed with caring for them.
