Home Sweet Home

We are officially moved and settled into the new house! The actual moving process went very well, thanks in large part to Clint's parents. We packed, loaded, unloaded, and unpacked ALL weekend long. It was exhausting but the results were well worth the work. Unfortunately, I had to hit the road again this morning for work, leaving a few things unfinished. However, we accomplished most of the essential stuff this weekend. Now all that is left is the fun stuff- hanging pictures, decorating, and adding our own touches. I can't wait! I will surely post more on the house and our progress in the near future. Unfortunately, I left in a rush and did not bring my camera along for my trip this week, which means you all will have to wait on a picture post.

We have already received a few very thoughtful housewarming gifts, and two of those came from some close friends who also blog- Ashley and Katrina. Thank you both so much for the sweet and generous gifts! It means so much to both me and Clint!

Happy Birthday Candace!

Today one of my best friends celebrates a birthday! Candace and I have been friends for many years. College graduation, engagements, marriage, first homes, a baby- we have essentially "grown up" together, and I know that her friendship has helped shape who I am today. We've had some great times over the years, shared some special moments, and gone on some great trips! In fact, Candace is my direct motivation for this blog. She's a wonderful friend, and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. Happy Birthday Candace! I hope YOUR DAY is fabulous! Love you!

Man's (or Woman's) Best Friend

I'm a big fan of incorporating special details into a wedding. More specifically, I love seeing pictures of a couple's dog take part in the wedding party. For so many people, a pet is like a child or like a part of the family. That being said, my good friend Ashley has a gorgeous child named Ella. I saw this picture and immediately thought of her. Not only would it be sentimental to have Ella as a part of her wedding, but she would also be a beautiful addition to her bridal portraits someday. Not to mention- it could save her some cash on her "getaway transportation"!

Convenient

One common problem I've seen at several weddings is an endless bar line. Of course, every wedding has a budget and no one wants to spend a huge sum of money hiring numerous bartenders. I have seen this idea used at weddings and stumbled across this picture recently on a wedding blog. Some people may find this "tacky", but I think it's a cute idea than can help cut down bar traffic at a casual wedding.
