wednesday loving
I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday to share a few of my current random loves.
1. Nutella Muffins with Cream Cheese Icing
I've made these delicious muffins the last couple of weekends and we are hooked! Here's the how-to if anyone is interested.
- 1 can Pillsbury Grand Biscuits
- 1 small jar Nutella
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Spread a couple Tbsp. of Nutella onto each rolled out dough.
- Roll up each dough.
- Cut each rolled up dough into 3 equal pieces.
- Place 3 pieces, with the cut side up, into each muffin tin slot.
- Bake at 350 F for about 15 minutes. Once cooked, let cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes, then remove and let finish cooling (or if you are like me and like them warm, then you won't have to wait long :) )
- For Icing, beat softened cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar together until smooth. Top Each Nutella Roll with Icing.
It's no SATC, but you take what you can get. And I think this new series about high-school-age Carrie Brashaw is a fresh, pleasant surprise. Check it out!
3. SAG Awards
I thought the SAG fashion was a bit of snooze-fest this year, but I did see a couple of looks that I loved.

4. THE Kiss
Nick and Jess FINALLY locked lips last night on New Girl. On a side note, if anyone knows where Jess got that super cute ruffle robe, please tell Mr. M that yours truly would like one for Valentine's Day.
Have a good Hump Day!!!

miscellany monday: phone dump!
{independence}
Last week on Independence Day "Eve", we enjoyed a night out on the town with the Stricklands. The kiddos were spending some time at grandmother's and C&J were flying solo for the evening. Those two always equal a fun time! Wine'd Down, Dram, Oak Hill, Dave's- we kinda bounced around all over the place, but it's rare to have a night off in the middle of the week. Had to make the most of it!
{fourth}
We celebrated the 4th by relaxing in the pool, eating some good food, and hanging with friends. Kim was so sweet to invite us to join her family at her mom's lake house for their holiday celebration!
My patriotic dessert
Baby Colin (and a little leftover cookie cake)
A little Despicable Me for the car ride home.
{hilariousness}

We saw Ted last week. I can't believe that I actually enjoyed a movie about a potty-mouthed teddy bear. Seriously laughed my butt off. Oh, and I had Dippin' Dots for the first time in at least...ehhh, five years? Talk about a successful evening!
{visitors}
My SIL and her b/f came to visit this past weekend, and as usual, we loved getting to spend time with them. We had a casual dinner and then hit up several favorite nightspots.
{pretty peanut}
It was nice to be reunited with these kiddos after they returned from their trip to Neenee's. I guess Miss Addison had a bit of an epiphany while she was away, because she politely informed her Monkey that she would prefer to be called "Pretty Peanut" instead of plain ole "Peanut" going forward. That girl kills me!
Hope everyone had a good Monday!

loving
{Magic Mike Midnight}
I'm loving our very fun girls' night last week! We had dinner/drinks at on tap and then headed to the midnight premiere of the movie. It's not going to win an Oscar anytime soon, and the ending kinda pissed me off, BUT any movie with Channing Tatum half naked a majority of the time ranks pretty high on my favorites list!

{sno-cones}
With the oppressive Alabama heat, I'm loving that we have a sno-cone stand less than 2 miles from our house. A large Tiger Blood, please sir!
{pretty polish}
Let's face it- I STINK at doing my own nails. I paint like a 2 year old, and even when I manage to do a semi-decent job, I usually mess it up within 10 minutes. Enter Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri. I usually buy nice polish like Essie or OPI or really cheap polish like NYC and Sinful Colors, but I finally tried this Insta-Dri line. It can't work miracles, so my painting skills are still lacking, but this stuff goes on smooth and sets FAST. I am loving the Petal Pusher color for my fingers and the top coat is also fabulous!

{tresses}
I'm loving these two lines of hair care products both made by Organix. I had some extra care bucks at CVS that were about to expire, so even though I didn't NEED any hair products, I decided to give these a shot. Fabulous idea- they both are so great I'm not sure which I prefer!

{independence}
God Bless America Y'all! I'm loving having the day off!
Have a very safe and happy 4th of July!

Wednesday Loves
Link up with Jamie! {wisdom}
I'm loving the statements that can come out of a toddler's mouth. For instance, my very smart and very sweet "niece" made a profound comment last week that I found wise beyond her (three) years. As we scraped the brownie batter bowl clean of any left-overs, she looked at me and exclaimed, "Chocolate- that's my best, favorite color!". I chuckled at her confusion with color vs. flavor, but the more I thought about it... Birthdays= chocolate. Easter baskets= chocolate. Weddings= chocolate. Valentine's Day= chocolate. Christmas stockings= chocolate. Afternoon pick-me-ups= chocolate. Long days at work= chocolate. Movie theaters= chocolate. Chocolate cake, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate fudge brownies, hot chocolate, chilly chocolate milk, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate ice cream... Indeed, sweet girl. Chocolate is my best, favorite color as well.
{sweet}
Speaking of sweet things, I'm currently loving sherbert. It's no secret that I'm a dessert girl (chocolate to be specific). But when it's 1000 degrees outside, nothing hits the spot like Blue Bell's summer sherbert!
{convenience}
I'm loving that the Target by our home has started giving you a clip-on cup-holder for your buggy when you buy a Starbucks beverage. Until recently, everytime I grabbed a drink, I had to play a tricky balance game as I tried to push the cart, grab items, and NOT spill my drink. How convenient!
{fresh}
I'm loving that my mom gave me my first batch of fresh, homegrown tomatoes this summer. Between her and Clint's granddaddy, there is no telling how many tomatoes I put away over the course of the summer. A great fresh tomato sandwich (with Miracle Whip, not Mayo) is a classic summer staple at our house!
{monogram}
Wasn't it the lovely Reese Witherspoon who said, "If it's not moving, monogram it"? Well whoever said it, I tend to live by this philosophy. Blame it on my Southern roots I suppose. Anyway, my bestie Candace gave me this awesome hat as part of my birthday present, and I'm loving it! Seriously don't think I could I be any more obsessed!
{cross}
Speaking of accessories, I'm also loving this other birthday prize - my new cross wrap bracelet! Too cute!
{eric}
I'm loving that Mr. Eric Northman is once again making his Sunday night appearances in my living room. The "True Blood" premiere was this past Sunday, and if the rest of the season is anything like the first episode it's going to be a wild ride!
Happy Wednesday!
