Band? Check.

So excited that we have officially crossed another thing off the list! After much deliberation, we have decided on Black Jacket as our musical entertainment at the reception. The main selling point on this band was VARIETY. They play everything from rock to country to pop to oldies. We have heard great things, and I think they will be a blast!

2010 Emmy's Fashion Recap

Some looks that I liked:
Jayma Mays from Glee in a Burberry ruched gown.

Kelly Osborne in Tony Ward. Look at that figure!

Lea Michele from Glee in a form-fitting Osca de la Renta gown.

The always gorgeous Claire Danes in Armani Prive.

Julie Bowen from Modern Family in J. Mendel.

Anna Paquin's look has gotten mixed reviews, but I personally love this fashion-forward design by the late great Alexander McQueen. But then again, maybe I'm just partial to True Blood's Sookie.

Mad Men's January Jones has received less than complimentary reviews for this Red Carpet number, but I don't find it half bad. It's nothing that I would wear, but I kinda like the unexpected burst of color and the texture of the dress. Designed by Versace.

WORST DRESSED:

Heidi Klum in Marchesca. Do her legs look killer? Yes. Do I think this was an appropriate dress for the Emmy's? No. While not as formal as the Oscars, I still felt this dress was way too short for an event as important as the Emmy's. Her hair and makeup look great, but the dress is a mess, the shoes are terrible, and the necklace is too fussy for the texture of the dress.

Kate Gosselin in Carmen Marc Valvo. Ew, ew, ew. She looks frumpy and unpolished.

BEST DRESSED:

Cory Monteith from Glee wearing Georgio Armani. Could he be any more adorable?

Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries) in Zuhair Murad. She looks absolutely stunning in this silk masterpiece. Love the updo and the metallic sheen of the dress. Perfection!

Weddings news...

Between working in an isolated area with poor internet connection and wedding planning, I've had little time or desire to blog. However, last week Clint and I finalized our wedding photographer choice, and I'm so excited about it that I just HAD to share! We will be using Gresham Photography for our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, and our wedding day coverage. They produce absolutely gorgeous work, and we think we will love working with Brandon and Stacey from a personal standpoint as well. We can't wait! Check out the blog to see some of their beautiful work.

notable novel

Just finished reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. Although the first couple of chapters were a little slow, this book turned out to be a real page-turner. Described as "a spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue," this novel centers around two main characters:
Mickael Blomkvist- A crusading journalist recently convicted for libel, who is hired to solve a disappearance that occurred decades ago.

Lisbeth Salander- A young, pierced, punk-rock girl known for her computer hacking skills, but lack of social skills, who aids Mikael in his investigation.

Luckily this book is part of a trilogy, and I cannot wait to start book two!
