the most wonderful time of year...

I know this title is typical reserved for the Christmas season...and I agree, Christmas is wonderful. I LOVE Christmas. But despite my Christmas obsession, I think Fall rates as my FAVORITE time of year. So why is this the most wonderful time of year one might ask. In WILW style, let me tell you what I love about this season.

1. Lower temperatures. Our southern summers are hotter than four hells. I'm talking so hot you walk out the door and your carefully applied make-up immediately slides off your face into a melted blob on the ground. However, come September October we finally start to feel a little relief from the extreme heat, and thus look a little less like a hot mess.

2. Football season. You see, we at the Miller High Life House eat, sleep, and breathe college football. Specifically Alabama football. Not only do I love the excitement and school pride associated with football season, it's also the perfect excuse to get together with friends, eat really unhealthy food, and enjoy questionable amounts of libations. Doesn't get much better than that folks.

3. Fall foliage. Call me a tree-hugger or a nerd, but I really do love the natural colors of fall. Reds, yellows, browns, oranges... so pretty. And literally every pot and planter at the M house is currently dripping with mums. Pumpkins come next!

4. Re-emergence of the PSL. Who doesn't get excited the first time they pull up to Starbucks and see the glorious Pumpkin Spice Latte back on the menu? I know this girl certainly does.

5. Fall TV Premieres. You guys know I love primetime tv. I make no excuses. Are there more productive things I could do with my time? Sure. But we all have our vices. The way I see it, mine could be much worse. Aside from a few little gems (True Blood, etc), summer tv is pretty much a long "dry spell". So when fall rolls around, I'm more than ready for all my favorite shows to return. And because I wouldn't be me without a list within a list, I'm breaking down the premieres I'm MOST excited about this season.

So this one already happened and the Castle/Beckett romance did not disappoint!

I practically salivate thinking about this return. Amazeballs.

Who doesn't love a good fairytale?

It's just awesome. And if Cam doesn't crack you up, you must be dead.

This new show intrigues me. Giving it a shot this Sunday.

This is my other new tester-show. Will report back.

Hello Chuck Bass. It's always a long summer without you.

Don't let the name fool ya. Mrs. Florrick can get pretty scandalous.

comeback

Whose been on the edge of their seats wondering if/when I'd return to blogland? < insert crickets chirping sound effect > ....

While I’m certain your lives haven’t been the same without my borderline stalkerish posts about Britney (have y’all seen her on X-Factor?!?) or my slightly obnoxious love for Alabama football, I doubt you all noticed my absence THAT much. I’ll catch you guys up later, but in a nutshell- around the time of my last post I was busy interviewing for a new job, accepting the new job, transitioning to the new job, and then getting settled into the new job. Busy times y’all. The good news is that despite all the craziness that comes along with taking a new position, I finally feel like a normal person who gets to go home every evening and not fly/drive off to some new city every Monday morning. Sure do miss my peoples from the old job though.

Anywho- like I said, I’ll be back with a little ditty to bring everyone up to date later, but for now, I’m giving the spotlight to my favorite fella. Having a whole month (Clintember) and an annual party (Clintapalooza) isn’t enough, so I’m dedicating my “comeback” post to the BIRTHDAY BOY!

Happy Birthday Clint! I hope your 28th year is the best yet! You’re the wittiest, kindest, and funnest person I know, and I’m lucky to call you my husband.

While Mr. M's actual birthday is today, we celebrated Clintapalooza with some of our closest friends last weekend during the Alabama/Arkansas game. I leave you with a random collection of the only pictures in existence from that debauchery…
