I'm still in D.C. and will hit the blog hard next week, but I saw these images of a rustic reception and just had to share! Great decor- I love the hanging balls, twinkly lights, and simple table settings. I love how the wedding planner grouped mis-matched vases on each table with a variety of small bouqets in each- so charming! Simple, unique, casual- yet elegant. My kind of style!

Sneak Peek
I have also neglected to provide any updates on the house. With me travelling for work and the demands of our extremely busy weekend social calendar (haha), the "settling in" process has been slow-going. We are taking our time getting unpacked and purchasing things for the house. I must say that so far, we LOVE living there, though. These are a few pictures taken as we moved things in the other weekend. Keep in mind, we still have a long way to go. We haven't even hung the first picture, for goodness sakes! I'll post more once things look a little more "lived in".
The Tough Life
I may have failed to mention that for the past few weeks I have been working in Baldwin County, AL, and thus staying at the wonderful Grand Hotel in Point Clear. Tomorrow is my last day working on this bank's examination, and while I am MORE than happy to wrap up this assignment, I must say that I will miss what's been my "home away from away home" for the past three weeks. Here a few snapshots of some of my time spent here:

Weekend = Wonderful
This weekend our little group enjoyed our annual A-Day and Crawfish Festival tradition. We left Birmingham Saturday morning in route for Tuscaloosa, enjoyed A-Day festivities, headed to Faunsdale for the Crawfish Festival, and ended the evening by all spending the night at Clint's parents' house. The weather and atmosphere in Tuscaloosa were beyond words. We all agreed that there seemed to be even more people there for the spring game than for a regular season game. Must be a result of that lingering championship glory! We saw lots of friends and got to visit two of favorite hangouts: The Bear Trap and The Houndstooth. Faunsdale was equally as fun: great tasting crawfish and more fun times with friends. The night ended with some pretty fabulous Cheese Toast compliments of Keyfer! :)
The pictures above are from A-Day and the couple below are at the Crawfish Festival.

paper pretties
My friend, coworker, and fellow-blogger Ashley commented to me just today that I have yet to do a post on wedding invitations. The absence of an invitation post is surely not because I don't have strong opinions towards invitations. I feel about pretty invitations the way most girls feel about Brad Pitt. However, to most- my taste in invitations is a little bland. For the most part, I just love traditional, classic letterpress calligraphy. While I recognize that invitations are costly and are likely tossed in the trash after a short lifespan on someone's refridgerator, I do appreciate high-quality paper and calligraphy. These are some examples of what I like when it comes to invitations. I do like the rustic, yet elegant appeal that some of these tree/plant related invitations have, like the Basalm Calligraphy and the Walden Oak Tree. There's just some reliable, steady, and strong about an oak tree- and what better symbolism for a lasting marriage?

Impressed
Words cannot express the amount of respect I have for Sarah Jessica Parker. She is a fearless fashionista, a talented actress, a successfull businesswoman, AND A WIFE AND MOTHER. She has endured her fair share of media scrutiny on her marriage and her appearance, and she had to experience a traumatic invasion of privacy during the birth of her daughters. I have admired her list of accomplishments for quite sometime, and I was excited when my sweet friend Rachel (who shares my obsession for all things SATC-related) pointed out this article to me from May's issue of Vogue. Most of my friends know how much I love SJP as Carrie Bradshaw, but this article further confirmed my love for SJP as a person.
Anyone else PUMPED about the premiere of SATC2 next month??
